That's a Wrap!!

It has been a wonderful school year! I have loved every minute of it. This class has been amazing and I am sad to see them go.... They are going to be rock stars in 3rd grade though. I will love them forever and wish them the best of luck in everything they do. Thank you to the parents who helped me during the school year. I appreciate it very much! Parents, thank you for sharing your babies with me this year. If I can ever help them in the future do not hesitate to ask. Hope everyone has a great summer!!!

We've been busy this week

Here is a picture from our Field Trip this week.  We went to our local fire and police stations. We also visited the recycling center. We learned a lot about our community and ways we could help.

This week was always my birthday week! I had two sneaky but sweet moms throw me a surprise bday party! They kids did such a good job keeping a secret! I was very surprised!

Birthday Flowers from these sweet girls!

Lastly, we had our Liberty's Legacy Graduation this week! We got to choose a super citizen in our community to honor at our program. We pick Miss Emily (Hannah's Mom)

Its coming to an end.....

We are becoming very busy in the classroom. At the end of the school year we have a lot of events and fun activities to do. This past week our class started our plant unit. We made our own greenhouses and we are waiting for something to sprout. We make observations daily. We also did some fun Earth Day crafts! On Friday, we had our Relay for Life event. We had a great time walking for love ones and the students loved the snow cones after!  This week we are going to start on our end of the year notebooks and our mother's day presents. This is a busy time of year for us! I am becoming sad though because I only have 23 days left with my sweet kiddos! They are all ready for 3rd grade but I am going to miss them!!!

Data Notebooks

This last nine weeks of school my students are going to keep up with their own classroom data. We have put together folders where the students can graph their  data. Each Friday we take about 20 minutes to graph our progress and discuss if we are getting closer to our goals. We graph our ORF score for progress monitoring that week, our weekly spelling test grade, our current AR points, and our current facts in a flash level the student is on. The students have loved doing this and they looked forward to Friday so that can see their progress! I will send these folders home with your child at the end of the year. Check out some pictures of us in action graphing our progress.

We had the Animal Tales program come visit our school yesterday. The students loved learning and seeing different kinds of animals. I decided to be brave and get close to the bird eating spider... I know I'm crazy!!

One of my teacher friends, Mrs. Busha, is wonderful at using QR codes. She is helping me incorporate them into my classroom. Today we did a math sheet and we checked our answers my scanning a QR code. My students loved it and we can't wait to use them again!! Check it out!
